In 2014, Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh helped to stop the Ebola virus from spreading in Nigeria. Though she lost her life in the process, her courage inspired the establishment of DRASA Health Trust.

Today, as Nigeria responds to another Ebola outbreak, we are putting her legacy into action.

Working alongside the government and other implementing partners to support the Ebola outbreak response, we are deploying our expertise and mobilizing our networks, partnership opportunities, and Health Champions to help prevent the further spread of the Ebola virus in Nigeria.

How We Are Supporting the Government’s Ebola Response

Our response builds on the work we already do across Nigeria.

1

Protecting Healthcare Workers

We are mobilizing trained infection prevention and control (IPC) professionals, strengthening healthcare facility readiness, and promoting practices that protect frontline workers and patients.

2

Strengthening Community Protection

We are engaging our Health Champions and community networks to share accurate information, encourage preventive behaviors, recognize potential risks, and support early reporting through established public health channels.

3

Supporting Nigeria’s Public Health Response

We are working with the relevant government agencies and implementing partners to strengthen coordination, support outbreak response activities, and reinforce the systems that will help Nigeria prevent the further spread of Ebola virus and other emerging public health threats.

Our Experience

DRASA was established following Nigeria’s 2014 Ebola outbreak with a mission to ensure that no one suffers from preventable infections.

Since then, we have worked across states, communities, healthcare facilities, schools, and government institutions to strengthen disease prevention and health security.

Our experience from responding to infectious disease threats, combined with our nationwide disease prevention networks and partnerships, positions us to contribute meaningfully now, when Nigeria needs us most.

Support Our Efforts

Effective outbreak response requires collective action.

We welcome funding, technical, and implementing partnerships from local philanthropy, well-meaning individuals, private sector organizations, multinational corporations, international foundations & philanthrophic entities, and public institutions committed to protecting lives.

Your support can help us strengthen Nigeria’s response by:

  • Building the capacity of more healthcare workers to respond to the Ebola outbreak.
  • Equipping more Health Champions in communities and schools to strengthen disease detection and reporting.
  • Strengthening national efforts to prevent further spread of the Ebola virus within and across our borders
