Last night we attended the inaugural Amity Awards and benefit event hosted by Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
The event was held to advocate for development in the health sector but also to inspire by sharing success stories and celebrating heroes who exhibit the highest levels of professionalism and reinforce good behavior.
As Mr. Solomon Alao, CEO of the Centre for Intervention Development and Leadership (CIDL) said, “We’re trying to rebuild the health sector but there are so many people who make sacrifices. Unsung heroes and people who remain in the background that we want to highlight.”
For that reason, LUTH and the Amity Awards team presented Dr. Adadevoh with a post-humous Lifetime Achievement Award. Our Managing Director Niniola Soleye collected the award on behalf of the Adadevoh family.
There were so many stories shared about the great things happening in Nigerian healthcare. In addition to the invididuals recognized, LUTH’s Infectious Diseases Unit and the Anesthesia Team were recognized for their work and several corporate bodies including Guinness Nigeria PLC, Nigeria Breweries PLC, Chevron Nigeria, and the National Sovereign Investment Agency were recognized for their significant contributions to LUTH.
The phrase of the night was, “LUTH is working!” and we agree. It was very inspiring to see all their achievements and successes in spite of all the obvious obstacles and challenges.
