Building on the success and lessons learned from the first phases of our AMR School Program (2017 to 2021), we launched a new phase in 2022. This phase expanded from 10 schools in Lagos to 30 secondary schools across two states, Osun and Lagos, Nigeria, in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) African Regional Office and Nigeria Country Office.
2023 was a remarkable year for groundbreaking policy development in Nigeria. We played an active role in the AMR National Action Plan 2.0, where we provided technical support to strengthen the future of health.
Our goals in 2021 were to continue our COVID-19 response activities, expand our geographic reach to serve new areas, and restart our pre-pandemic project and programs.
The COVID-19 pandemic challenged us in immeasurable ways, transforming how we live, work and move. It also tested health systems around the world, exposing gaps and opportunities to improve.
During our first year of operation, our goals were to launch a community health program, solidify strategic partnerships for our health worker simulation training program, and increase awareness and visibility of DRASA.
