AMR School Program

AMR School Program 2022

Building on the success and lessons learned from the first phases of our AMR School Program (2017 to 2021), we launched a new phase in 2022. This phase expanded from 10 schools in Lagos to 30 secondary schools across two states, Osun and Lagos, Nigeria, in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) African Regional Office and Nigeria Country Office.

The program aims to educate and empower students in Lagos and Osun states as key stakeholders in antimicrobial resistance (AMR). As current and future generations of antimicrobial users and leaders, these young people serve as Ambassadors. Their role is to educate others and promote behavior change to prevent the spread of infections, ensure effective treatment when infected, avoid the misuse and overuse of antimicrobial drugs, and ultimately reduce the prevalence of AMR.
