Today we took our #ItStartsWithMe program to the Araromi community in the Ajegunle slum to engage students from 5 schools in the area.
From the video above, you can see the state of the environment where they live. Every day, the children and their families are at high risk of infection and illness. This is why we felt it was so necessary to collaborate with Dreams from the Slum to host this session for the children.
The children were really excited. In fact, as soon as we arrived and were still setting up, this little fellow came to say hello and pose for a picture:

We spoke to the children about the importance of good health, hygiene, and food safety and did an activity to show them how germs spread.
We taught them the proper way to wash their hands, how to sing our handwashing song, and how to use the “dab” dance move to cover their mouths when they cough and to cover their noses when they sneeze. As you can imagine, they were all happy to practice that one.
Thanks to Dreams from the Slum and all 5 schools for making this such a memorable day! We look forward to going back soon. Check out more pictures below.
