Antimicrobial resistance is no longer a silent pandemic. It is a growing global health threat that demands urgent action.

As part of our commitment to combating this crisis, we took to the streets of Abuja for our #AMROnTheStreet Campaign, partnering with University of Abuja students to raise awareness about the dangers of antimicrobial misuse. From children to adults, we educated the public on how their actions today can protect future generations.

At the 2024 National Conference on Infection Control (NCIC), themed "Strengthening IPC in Nigeria," we received a prestigious award from the Nigerian Society for Infection Control (NSIC) in recognition of our exceptional contributions to promoting Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) across the country.

The three-day event brought together scholars, healthcare professionals, and policymakers for workshops, panel discussions, and presentations, all focused on actionable strategies to enhance IPC practices for safer healthcare delivery in Nigeria.

Through the EduAid project, we visited 5 secondary

Through the EduAid project, we visited 5 secondary schools in Osun State educating 280 secondary school students on Antimicrobial Resistance (#AMR) and its dire consequences, with an interactive platform that encouraged peer-to-peer learning.

When provided with the opportunity to teach their peers, it was inspiring to see these young leaders take charge and spread awareness on such an important topic. The top 3 presenters from each school were awarded certificates for their excellent performances.

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is one of the biggest public health threats, linked to 4.71 million deaths globally in 2021. In Africa, AMR could claim up to 2 million lives annually by 2050 if urgent action is not taken.

Our AMR Program Manager, Ifeyinwa George was featured on @who's website where she where she discussed challenges faced in tackling the spread of antimicrobial resistance in the African region. In her interview, she explored the role of the government, community influencers, youth, and students in tackling the spread of AMR.
