Today we attended a social sector networking event organized by Young Adult Professionals & Entrepreneurs (YAP&E) in collaboration with Philanthropy Circuit and hosted at the Ford Foundation.
As a breakfast dialogue, the event provided a platform for a pool of like-minded people working in the social sector to know what other organizations exist in this sector, amplify their work and explore ways to collaborate and scale their efforts. The objective of the event, as explained by Funke Shonekan, the Executive Director of The Chris Ogunbanjo Foundation, and Katja Nwator, Founder of Philanthropy Circuit, was to connect, share and learn.
DRASA, as well as about 30 other organizations such as Oando Foundation, Leap Africa, Health Emergency Initiative, Rape One Rape All (RORA), ENACTUS Nigeria, Incubator Africa, Cancer Aware Nigeria, and Cece Yara used this event to discuss ways to collaborate with one another and also share lessons learned from our individual experiences.
We believe that networking events such as this help organizations identify and harness opportunities for partnership, avoid duplication of efforts, and work together towards attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
